How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Chaserey

Chaserey sits within a landscape of quiet, chalky resilience, where the Ru de Bernon traces a path through the rolling terrain. Nearby, the slopes of Champ Aubert rise above the verdant expanse of les Allouets, offering a perspective over fields that stretch toward the horizon. This is a region defined by the dry textures of the Champagne pouilleuse and the distant, cooling presence of the Parc Naturel Régional de la Forêt d'Orient. Visitors might wander toward the Château de Vanlay, a stately presence in the local greenery, or explore the historic remnants of the Château des Stuart and the Église Saint-Valentin, which stand as hushed witnesses to the passage of time.
