How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Grandville

Grandville sits quietly within the Champagne Sèche, an expanse of big cereal plains where the earth holds the dry, pale memory of chalk. Nearby, the l'Huîtrelle traces its path through a landscape defined by the shade of the Bois Saint-Didier and the distant, rising form of the Côte Goument. Beyond the local stillness, the region offers sights like the elegant Château de Dampierre or the storied Église Saint-Léger. Further out, the Parc Naturel Régional de la Forêt d'Orient invites exploration, grounding this modest commune in a wider horizon of woods, fields, and the quiet, enduring character of the Aube.
