How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bisel

Bisel sits tucked within the rolling landscape of the Glaserberg, a quiet commune defined by the nearby flow of the Largitzenbach and the deep, hushed corridors of the Huebwald. Here, the Alsatian spirit lingers in the quiet fields and the seasonal bloom of geraniums. Nearby, the dramatic ruins of the Château de Ferrette stand as stone sentinels over the ridge, while the Musée du Sapeur-Pompier d'Alsace preserves a dedicated history of local service. A short excursion leads to the serene grounds of the Parc de Reinach, where the landscape invites a slower pace under the wooded crests of the distant horizon.
