How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ozières

Ozières rests within a landscape defined by the quiet passage of the Fossé 01 de la Chaulatte and the rising silhouette of the Haut de Charmot. Beyond these immediate heights, the horizon stretches toward the Bois de Romain, where the land settles into the vast, rhythmic patterns of cereal plains. In the wider countryside, the stone remnants of the Abbaye de Morimond echo with a long-forgotten stillness, while the imposing walls of the Château de Reynel stand as silent sentinels over the valley. Further toward the Meuse, the air carries a contemplative weight, offering a glimpse into a region where the earth is carved by time and slow, seasonal change.
