How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saulxures

Saulxures lies tucked within the quiet folds of the Haute-Marne, a landscape defined by the soft presence of the Petite Amance and the nearby shadows of Bois Chassot. In this corner of the Grand Est, cereal plains ripple toward the horizon, echoing the serene stillness of the wider countryside. Visitors might wander toward the Aire d'Adhésion du Parc National de Forêts to lose themselves in deep timber, or venture further to discover the ruins of the Abbaye de Morimond, where time seems to hold its breath. Near the rolling slopes, the Point triple hydrographique offers a humble vantage point over the ancient, chalky earth.
