How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Soyers

Soyers sits tucked within the quiet folds of the Haute-Marne, a landscape defined by the rhythmic pull of cereal plains and the deep, silent reach of the Forêt Domaniale de Marcilly-Voisey. The Ruisseau du Marquelon traces a gentle line through this terrain, where the air feels suspended above the distant, wooded crests of le Haut du Crêt. Nearby, the landscape holds its secrets, from the haunting stone of the Monument Mathelat du cimetière to the enduring, weathered arches of the Abbaye de Cherlieu. A short journey away, the ruins of Château-Dessous offer a solitary anchor to a countryside marked by the stillness of the earth.
