How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ablancourt

Ablancourt rests within the vast, cereal-dusted plains of the Marne, where the dry Champagne pouilleuse stretches toward a horizon etched by the distant, wooded crests of le Mont de l'Arbre. Nearby, the Canal Latéral à la Marne mirrors the quiet, expansive sky, while the foliage of les Prats offers a sliver of shade amidst the chalk-laden earth. Beyond the village, a visitor might uncover the silent, protohistoric traces of the Camp des Louvières, or travel further to witness the enduring stone facades of the Hôpital (ancien) and the quiet, weathered walls of the Couvent des Récollets (ancien).
