How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Anglure

Anglure rests within the vast, quiet cereal plains of the Marne, where the horizon stretches wide over chalk-rich earth. Nearby, the Canal de Choisel threads through the landscape, offering a sense of stillness that mirrors the quietude of the wooded la Noue d'Aval. Beyond the immediate fields, the terrain rises toward the distant Mont de Vignes. Exploring the wider countryside, one finds the ruins of the Abbaye de Nesle-la-Reposte, where time has softened the stone, alongside the ancient, weathered presence of the Menhir dit la Grande Pierre and the Église Saint-Denis, standing as enduring sentinels in the hushed, open air.
