How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Noirlieu

Noirlieu rests within the vast, quiet cereal plains of the Marne, a landscape defined by the pale chalk beneath the soil and the pines of the dry Champagne pouilleuse. Nearby, the waters of l'Ante flow softly past the Étang de Noirlieu, while the woodland of Bacconchamp offers a verdant border to the commune. Beyond this serene expanse, the horizon holds the weight of history near the Camp romain, a silent witness to the past. Travelers may find the historic Moulin de Valmy standing proudly against the sky, or seek the ornate, weathered stone of the Basilique Notre-Dame de l'Épine, both marking the wider countryside with their distinct presence.
