How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Pierre-Morains

Pierre-Morains sits quietly within the expansive, sun-bleached cereal plains of the Marne. Here, the earth is defined by chalky foundations and the steady, rhythmic stretch of fields that roll toward the distant, wooded crests. Nearby, the Petit Morin winds through the landscape, while the silhouette of Mont Aimé rises on the horizon, an enduring landmark above the vines. A visitor might explore the ruins of Le Mont-Aimé, where stones hold the weight of centuries, or journey further to discover the Menhir de l'étang de Chénevry. Even the distant, historic Château de Montmort stands as a silent sentinel over this contemplative corner of the Grand Est.
