How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Pierre

Saint-Pierre rests within the vast cereal plains of the Grand Est, a landscape defined by chalky earth and the quiet persistence of the horizon. Nearby, the Pisseleu flows through the stillness, while the distant Mont des Quartiers anchors the view. The air carries the weight of the Champagne pouilleuse, where pines stand against the open sky. A short journey leads to the historic Cathédrale Saint-Étienne, a structure of immense stone grace, or to the hidden depths of the Caves médiévales, sous la galerie Saint-Germain. Beyond these, the Château de Juvigny remains a silent witness to the changing seasons of the Marne.
