How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Vandeuil

Vandeuil sits within a landscape of big cereal plains where the earth holds the quiet memory of the past. Nearby, the Ruisseau du Moulin traces a slow path through the fields, while the slopes of Mont Grenet rise gently above the trees of Bois la Darne. The air carries the stillness of the wider countryside, inviting one to wander toward the Parc Naturel Régional de la Montagne de Reims. A short journey reveals the weathered stone of the Château de Lagery, the solemn weight of the Borne Vauthier, and the quiet ruins of the Ancien manoir, each marking the passage of time across this chalky terrain.
