How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Bagneux

Bagneux sits quietly upon the plateau, a small village defined by the rhythmic pull of the cuesta and the presence of the Ruisseau des Bouvades. Here, the landscape is composed of red ochre stone and orchards, where the forest presses close against the fields. Nearby, the Bonnet rises on the horizon, overlooking a terrain shaped by iron and salt. A visitor might explore the storied stone of the Château de Tuméjus or wander toward the Grottes Sainte-Reine, where the earth reveals its hidden chambers. Further afield, the Fort de Domgermain stands as a silent sentinel over the wider countryside.
