How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Hénaménil

Hénaménil sits quietly within a landscape of plateau and cuesta, where the forest comes right up to the fields in a tapestry of red ochre stone and mirabelle orchards. Close by, the Sânon flows through the valley, reflecting the calm waters of the Étang de Parroy. The wider countryside is shaped by the legacy of iron and salt, with the distant Haut de la Coye rising on the horizon. A visitor may find the Borne Vauthier marking the landscape, while the grand Château de Lunéville and the imposing Fort de Manonviller stand as silent witnesses to history in the nearby region.

À propos de Hénaménil
