How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Lagney

Lagney sits quietly within the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, defined by the red ochre stone of its architecture and the encroaching shadow of the Bois de Lagney. The Ruisseau des Frax traces a gentle path nearby, winding through a landscape where the forest meets the fields in a timeless embrace. Visitors can explore the imposing Fort de Lucey, standing as a silent sentinel of the past, or wander toward the Cathédrale Saint-Étienne to admire its storied stone craft. Nearby, the Château de Boucq offers a glimpse into the region’s heritage, framed by the undulating plateau that shapes this quiet corner of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
