Bouligny s'inscrit au cœur d'un paysage façonné par le rythme paisible du plateau et de la cuesta. Ici, le Bois la Dame s'avance jusqu'aux confins des champs, rappelant la présence constante d'une forêt sauvage qui borde les étendues de la Meuse. Le Ruisseau de la Noue serpente à travers les légères dépressions du terrain, traçant son sillage sur une terre imprégnée par le souvenir du fer.
