How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Chardogne

Chardogne rests within a landscape defined by the quiet rhythm of the plateau and the meeting of forest and field. Here, the earth offers up hints of red ochre stone, while the nearby Nappont traces its path through a countryside where the Forêt Domaniale de Massonges edges close to the horizon. To the north, the elevation of Côte Bondon breaks the skyline. A traveler might explore the storied stone of the Château des Ducs de Bar or find intrigue in the depth of the Perte-gouffre. Further afield, the landscape deepens toward the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, reflecting a region marked by its hidden mineral wealth and ancient industrial echoes.

À propos de Chardogne
