How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Érize-la-Petite

Érize-la-Petite rests within the quiet geometry of the Meuse, a place where the forest edges press against the fields. The landscape is defined by the gentle presence of the Bois de la Grande Jurée and the nearby flow of l’Ezrule. In this country of iron and red ochre stone, village streets stretch in long, singular lines. Beyond the immediate horizon, the wider countryside holds the enduring stone of the Château de Thillombois, the meditative silence of the Sanctuaire Benoîte-Vaux, and the imposing, weathered walls of the Fort de Troyon, echoing the fortified lines that once shaped this region.
