How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Boustroff

Boustroff sits quietly within the Moselle landscape, a place where the forest of Nahtdriesch meets the open fields. The Ruisseau de la Peche traces a gentle path nearby, while the distant rise of the Engelberg summit defines the horizon. This is a region of red ochre stone and hidden iron, where the woods press close against the village streets. Visitors can explore the ruins of the Château comtal de Créhange, wander the trails near the Étang de Bischwald, or visit the imposing Ouvrage de Téting, a somber reminder of the fortified lines that once shaped this land.
