How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Fouligny

Fouligny rests within a landscape defined by the quiet rhythm of the plateau and the gentle rise of the cuesta, where the forest comes right up to the fields. The Ruisseau de Marange winds through this terrain, bordered by the nearby Niederholz, while the Haut Saint-Pierre remains a silent sentinel on the horizon. Beyond the village, a visitor might explore the evocative ruins of the Château comtal de Créhange or uncover the somber history etched into the concrete of the Ouvrage du Bambesch. Nearby, the Abbaye Saint-Martin-des-Glandières offers a peaceful sanctuary amidst the orchards and iron-rich earth of the Moselle.
