C'est une contrée de plateaux et de cuestas, où la forêt vient frôler les champs, et où la Forêt Domaniale de Puttelange offre un écrin de verdure à la commune. Le terrain est façonné par les oscillations discrètes du sol, rappelant une mémoire du fer et du sel qui a longtemps défini l'industrie de ces terres. À l'intérieur même du village, le bois du Hellenwald propose un refuge boisé propice à la contemplation.
