How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Rodalbe

Rodalbe rests quietly on the edge of the Allewald, where the forest meets the fields in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine. The river l'Albe flows nearby, feeding the tranquil waters of the Étang de Rodalbe. This is a landscape of the plateau and the cuesta, defined by iron and salt. A short journey leads to the Château de Bidestroff, while the Briquetage de la Seille stands as a silent testament to the ancient salt industry. Further afield, the Musée Départemental du Sel reveals the deep, mineral character of this land where red ochre stone defines the villages.
