Saint-François-Lacroix rests quietly upon the plateau, where the forest comes right up to the fields and the Ruisseau de Grandpre winds through the gentle slopes. This is a land of red ochre stone and hidden mine galleries, defined by the quiet rhythm of the cuesta. Nearby, the brooding concrete of the Ouvrage du Michelsberg stands as a silent witness to history, while the elegant Château de Malbrouck rises further out in the wider countryside. Within the landscape, the Hackenberg summit anchors the horizon, offering a stark contrast to the verdant, sheltered paths of the Forêt Domaniale de Sierck.
