📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Ban-de-Laveline rests within the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges, where the forest comes right up to the fields. The landscape is defined by the Ruisseau Basse de la Grande Goutte and the nearby Forêt des Hospices de Pompey, while the rugged silhouette of le Grand Brézouard looms on the horizon. It is a place of red ochre stone and deep woodland, cradled by the Massif du Taennchel. To the west, the quiet terrain hints at a history of mine galleries and the industry of iron, a landscape shaped by the slow, persistent work of water and time.
Visitors find the character of the village reflected in the sweeping vistas from the Belvédère de Sorémont and the Point de Vue Fernand Dolmaire, which offer a quiet perspective over the surrounding slopes. Further afield, the haunting stone of the Borne Vauthier stands as a somber marker of the past, while the distant ruins of the Château d'Échéry whisper of older, forgotten foundations.
