How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Brantigny

Brantigny rests upon the quiet plateau of the Vosges, where the forest of the Bois de la Xatelle reaches out to touch the tilled fields. The water of the Colon flows near the village, while the greater current of the Moselle winds through the valley floor. To the east, the summit of the Haut des Angles rises above the horizon. Nearby, one finds the stoic Monument de Lorraine, a silent witness in the landscape. Further afield, the ancient Prieuré de Belval offers a sanctuary of stone, while the formidable Forteresse de Châtel-sur-Moselle stands as a testament to the iron and salt history of this rugged, ochre-hued land.
