How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Harchéchamp

Harchéchamp sits quietly within the rolling plateau and cuesta landscape of the Vosges, where the forest meets the fields in a soft embrace. Nearby, the Vair flows through a countryside marked by the shadow of the Haut du Feys and the density of the Bois d'Autigny. A visitor exploring this corner of the Grand Est might discover the silent stones of the Abbaye de l'Étanche, the imposing silhouette of the Château de Couvonges, or the architectural grace of the Basilique Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc. It is a land defined by red ochre stone and the distant memory of iron and salt, where the horizon remains wide and undisturbed.
