How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

Map search is available for a limited number of queries per session to manage costs. Be specific — search precisely for best results.

About Pasly

Pasly sits within a quiet corner of the Aisne department, defined by the gentle sweep of the Hauts-de-France landscape. The air here holds the stillness of the wide plains, where the horizon is often draped in low grey clouds. Nearby, the river l'Aisne carves a path through the earth, while the Bois de Vaux offers a dense, sheltering presence. Just beyond the village, the Butte du Gué rises to break the line of the fields, standing as a silent sentinel over the surrounding beet and wheat crops that stretch toward the sky.

History lingers in the stone and shadow of the nearby city of Soissons. A short journey brings the visitor to the Cathédrale Saint-Gervais-et-Saint-Protais, its towering presence echoing centuries of quiet devotion. Nearby, the ruins of the Abbaye Saint-Jean-des-Vignes remain, their skeletal arches reaching upward against the elements. The Musée de Soissons invites a deeper look into the region's long memory, while the Château de Villeneuve offers a glimpse of the architectural heritage that defines these lands. It is a place for slow observation, where the weight of the past meets the rhythmic pulse of the rural seasons.
