How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ansacq

Ansacq rests in the quiet heart of the Oise, a commune defined by the slow meander of the Ru de Moineau and the dense shelter of the Bois Rouge. The landscape here is one of vast, open fields where the horizon stretches under low grey clouds, a terrain shaped by the rhythms of the earth. Nearby, the grand scale of the past reveals itself in the stately presence of the Château de Fillerval and the weathered stone of the Ancienne abbaye cistercienne de Froidmont. Further afield, the silhouette of Mont César marks the landscape, offering a silent witness to this austere and beautiful corner of Hauts-de-France.
