How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Monts

Monts rests quietly within the vast, open plains of the Oise, a landscape defined by the rhythmic geometry of beet and wheat fields. Nearby, the Fossé 01 de la Commune de Monts traces its path through the earth, while the gentle rise of Mont Rouge marks the horizon. The surrounding Bois Gandon offers a dense refuge of shadow against the wide, shifting skies. Exploring the wider countryside, visitors may encounter the quiet stone of the Menhir de la Vigne des Grès, the crumbling, meditative silence of the Ancienne abbaye de Marcheroux, or the enduring silhouette of the Château de Marines.
