How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Amplier

Amplier sits quietly within the Plaine de Beaurepaire, a landscape defined by the rhythmic working of beet and wheat fields under vast, shifting skies. The river Authie traces a modest path through this open terrain, while the nearby Bois Brûlé offers a patch of deep green seclusion. Further afield, the landscape rises toward the distant summit of Mont Rôti. A visitor might explore the storied stone of the Château de Raincheval or the Château de Hénu, both standing as quiet sentinels in the fields. The nearby Cité souterraine de Naours adds a layer of shadowed depth to the regional character of this brick-built land.
