How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Lépine

Lépine rests in the quiet expanse of the Pas-de-Calais, where the wide plains of beet and wheat meet the low, grey sky. Here, the landscape is defined by the damp earth, drainage ditches, and the gentle rise of the Mont des Rietz. Close by, the woodland of Bois Mayeux offers a shaded refuge, while the nearby nature reserve of the Baie de Somme whispers of the English Channel’s proximity. Visitors may wander the grounds of the Château de Lépine, explore the nearby Bois du Vireux, or seek the distant, guiding beam of the Phare de Berck rising above the horizon.
