How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

Map search is available for a limited number of queries per session to manage costs. Be specific — search precisely for best results.

About Curchy

Curchy lies nestled within the vast, open plains of the Somme, a landscape defined by the rhythmic geometry of beet and wheat fields. Under the expansive, often grey skies of the Hauts-de-France, the nearby l'Ingon flows quietly through the countryside, while the distant Froidmont summit punctuates the horizon. Nearby, the Bois de la Bourie offers a quiet sanctuary of woodland. Travelers may venture further to reflect at the Historial de la Grande Guerre, explore the storied remains of the Château de Ham, or stand before the ancient Menhir dit la Pierre de Gargantua, each site anchoring this quiet region in a profound sense of time.

À propos de Curchy
