OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Hangard sits quietly amidst the brick-toned expanse of the Somme, a region defined by wide plains of beet and wheat and the rhythmic lines of poplars. Close by, the Rivière la Luce winds through a landscape marked by le Bosquet and the distant, low-lying horizon. A visitor might find solemn reflection at the Borne Vauthier № 10, a testament to the heavy history of these fields, or wander the nearby Marais et Tourbières des Vallées de la Somme et de l'Avre. Further afield, the ruins of the Château de Boves offer a stark, stony silhouette against the vast, shifting grey skies.
