How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

In the distance, the silhouette of the Butte Montmartre rises against the horizon, grounding the commune in the broader geography of the region. This is a place of limestone and plaster, where the memory of the impressionists' light lingers on the water, blending the urban rhythm of the suburbs with the enduring stillness of the surrounding nature.

The character of Saint-Cloud is defined by its layered history and the seamless integration of residential life with its majestic surroundings. Cobbled squares and quiet streets reflect a town that has evolved beyond its origins, maintaining a sense of permanence amidst the bustle of the nearby capital. The economy is quiet and established, rooted in a landscape where the river remains a constant presence. It is a place where one feels the weight of the past in the stones of the architecture, yet finds a modern, reflective atmosphere that invites slow observation of the changing seasons.

Culture here is anchored by the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, a vast expanse that offers a sanctuary of greenery and historical paths.
