How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Mortcerf

Mortcerf lies nestled within the wheat plains of the Brie, where the landscape is defined by the steady presence of limestone and plaster architecture. The nearby Forêt de Crécy offers a deep, shaded canopy, while the gentle flow of the Fossé 01 de Mortcerf marks the rhythm of the surrounding fields. It is a quiet threshold, situated between the open farmland and the dense, rhythmic lines of ancient woodland that stretch toward the horizon.

Visitors seeking the character of the region will find Parrot World a short distance away, where wildlife thrives in an immersive setting. Nearby, the ruins of the Château du Duc d'Epernon stand as a silent testament to the past, while the Collégiale Notre-Dame de l'Assomption de Crécy-la-Chapelle provides a towering anchor of stone. To the west, the Étang de Guerlande offers a reflective pause in the wider countryside, inviting a slower pace amidst the echoes of the Brie.
