How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Banthelu

Banthelu sits quietly within the Parc Naturel Régional du Vexin Français, a landscape defined by the expansive wheat plains of the Vexin and the gentle, rolling contours of les Varennes. The Ru du Lavoir threads through this terrain, while the nearby Bois des Dames offers a verdant anchor to the horizon. Visitors may explore the evocative Ruines de l'Église Saint-Gédéon within the village itself, or venture to the ancient Allée sépulcrale couverte néolithique dite du Bois Couturier. Further out, the Domaine de Villarceaux provides a serene escape, harmonizing the quiet, enduring character of this rural corner with the lingering impressionist light of the region.
