How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Campigny

Campigny sits nestled within the quiet, rolling landscape of le Neubourg, a region defined by the soft grey light that has long captivated painters. The terrain is marked by the intimate bocage of small fields and thick hedges, where cattle graze in wet pastures and apple orchards thrive in the damp, fertile earth. Nearby, the river la Véronne flows through the countryside, while the vast Parc Naturel Régional des Boucles de la Seine Normande offers a sanctuary of preserved nature. The distant sea fog often drifts inland from the English Channel, veiling the horizon and lending a contemplative weight to the quiet rural expanse.

Visitors to Campigny find themselves immersed in a landscape rich with traditional textures, from half-timbered farmhouses to the remnants of a storied past. A short distance away, the Château de Montfort-sur-Risle stands as a poignant reminder of history, its ruins etched against the sky. Closer to the village, the Moulin de Campigny offers a glimpse into the local heritage of water-powered industry, while the Haras de Lillebec reflects the region’s long-standing connection to the land. Nearby, the Marais Vernier et Vallée de la Risle Maritime invites exploration of its unique wetland ecosystem, a place where the air carries the scent of salt and river silt.
