How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Grand-Camp

Grand-Camp sits nestled within the rolling bocage of the Pays d'Ouche, a landscape defined by thick hedgerows, apple orchards, and the quiet presence of cattle in wet pastures. Nearby, the waters of le Cosnier trace the valley, while the woodland of le Petit Parc offers a shaded retreat. This is a land of soft grey light and flint-built tradition. A short journey away, the Château de Bonneville stands as a reminder of the region’s storied past, while the Musée des beaux-arts de Bernay captures the local spirit. Further afield, the Menhir de la Longue Pierre remains a silent witness to the ancient history of these fields.
