How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Hécourt

Hécourt rests within a landscape shaped by the gentle rhythms of the Eure valley and the quiet presence of the Forêt d'Hécourt. Here, the soft grey light filters across the bocage of small fields and thick hedges where cattle graze in wet pastures. Nearby, the landscape holds the weight of history, from the ancient stone of the Menhir dit La Pierre-Frite to the refined architecture of the Château de Brécourt. A short journey away, the Pyramide commémorative de la bataille d'Ivry stands as a sober reminder of the past, punctuating a countryside defined by flint textures and the enduring calm of the Normandy earth.
