How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Porte-de-Seine

Porte-de-Seine sits quietly along the river Seine, cradled by the natural landscape of les Varennes. The commune is defined by the gentle presence of the Plan d'Eau du Beau Soleil and the nearby Bois Fleuret. In this corner of Normandie, the light often softens over the Île de Pampou, where the river currents slow. A short journey away, the historic Moulin d'Andé stands as a testament to the region's enduring character. Visitors may also discover the Manoir de Senneville or explore the ancient stones of the Menhir de la Basse-Crémonville, each anchoring the village in a deeper, quieter sense of time.
