How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Val d'Orger

Val d'Orger nestles within the Vexin Normand, a landscape defined by the quiet rhythm of the Forêt de Bacqueville and the gentle meanderings of the Bras de l'Andelle. This is a region of flint churches and apple orchards, where the soft grey light captures the essence of the surrounding bocage. Nearby, the history of the land reveals itself through the imposing stone of the Abbaye de Mortemer and the haunting, ancient presence of the Menhir dit la Pierre Saint-Martin. Further afield, the Théâtre romain des Câteliers offers a silent testament to the layers of time that rest beneath the soil of this tranquil corner of the Eure.
