How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Montcuit

Montcuit sits within the quiet, verdant embrace of the Manche, where the landscape is defined by the dense bocage of small fields and thick hedges. Nearby, the Ruisseau de la Liotterie traces a modest path through land that feels shaped by time and the soft, grey light of Normandy. This is a region of apple orchards and the quiet industry of cider, where the weight of the past is carried with understated gravity. Visitors may explore the rugged archaeological remains of the Butte du Castel, seek out the historic architecture of the Manoir du Bois, or wander the protected, marshy expanses of the Parc Naturel Régional des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin.
