How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Champ-Haut

Champ-Haut sits quietly within the bocage, where small fields and thick hedges define a landscape of soft, grey light. Nearby, the Ruisseau des Viviers winds through the damp earth, a gentle companion to the orchards and cattle-filled pastures that characterise this corner of Normandie. Beyond the immediate fields, the Bois du Bouillonnay stands on the horizon. Visitors may explore the ancient stones of the Dolmen de la Pierre Levée, discover the imposing walls of the Château de Gacé, or travel further to walk among the evocative ruins of the Abbaye de Saint-Évroult, where time seems to slow in the quiet air.
