How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Champcerie

Champcerie lies nestled within the quiet bocage of the Orne, where the landscape is a patchwork of small fields defined by thick hedges and apple orchards. Nearby, the waters of the Fossé 02 du Moulinet trace the valley, while the expanse of the Retenue de Rabodanges glimmers in the soft grey light. The weight of the past lingers quietly in the soil here, mirrored by the enduring presence of the Tumulus dit des Hogues and the ancient Dolmen dit Pierre-aux-Bignes. A short journey away, the elegant Manoir de la Cour stands as a testament to the slow, steady rhythm of this rural corner of Normandie.
