How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Le Sap-André

Le Sap-André nestles within the Pays d'Ouche, a landscape defined by the dense bocage of small fields and thick hedges. Here, the soft, grey light of Normandy filters through the trees, illuminating the nearby river la Guiel as it winds past ancient, flint-built farmhouses. Apple orchards stretch across the rolling terrain, while the quiet weight of the past lingers in the air. Visitors can explore the evocative ruins of the Abbaye de Saint-Évroult, walk to the ancient Dolmen de la Pierre Couplée, or discover the sturdy walls of the Château de Gacé, each site anchored deep within this resilient, rural earth.
