How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ancourt

Ancourt sits tucked within the quiet texture of the Plaine de Socquentot, where the river l'Eaulne winds through a landscape of damp pastures and tangled hedgerows. Nearby, the Forêt Domaniale d'Arques offers deep woodland shade, while the salt-tinged air from the English Channel drifts inland over the fields. A short journey reveals the weathered remains of the Château d'Arques-la-Bataille, standing as a silent sentinel over the valley. Visitors might also explore the elegant Château de Miromesnil or wander the rugged heights of le Mont Blanc, feeling the soft grey light that has long defined this corner of Normandie.
