How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Beautot

Beautot rests within the quiet expanse of the Plaine de Socquentot, a landscape defined by the bocage of small fields and thick hedges. Near the woodland of Bois du Pendu, the soft grey light illuminates flint architecture and apple orchards that speak to a long, slow heritage. Travelers might explore the nearby Parc du Bocasse or wander the grounds of the Château de Bosmelet, where the history of the region is held in quiet reserve. Further afield, the Parc zoologique de Clères offers a glimpse into nature, all set against a horizon where the weight of the past is felt in the hushed, verdant countryside.
