How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Cropus

Cropus sits quietly within the Plaine de Socquentot, a landscape defined by the soft, diffused light of Normandie. Here, the earth is a patchwork of the bocage, where thick hedges shelter cattle in wet pasture and apple orchards hint at the season’s cider. Nearby, the river la Scie traces a gentle path through the greenery, while the Bois Royal offers a silent canopy close by. A short journey away, the Château de Bosmelet stands as a testament to local heritage, and the Collégiale Notre-Dame remains a solemn presence. The horizon is shaped by the distant bulk of Mont Rouge, grounding this tranquil corner of Seine-Maritime in its ancient, flint-strewn soil.
