How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Dancourt

Dancourt rests quietly within the bocage of the Normandie countryside, where thick hedges enclose small fields and cattle graze in wet pastures. The river l'Yères winds through this landscape, shadowed nearby by the dense Massif de la Haute Forêt and the rise of Mont de Dieu. In the soft grey light, one senses the weight of history carried quietly across the land. Beyond the village, a visitor might explore the storied stone of the Château de Mesnières-en-Bray, the architectural legacy of the Château d'Eu, or the collections held within the Musée Louis-Philippe, each offering a distinct echo of the past.
