How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Pierrecourt

Pierrecourt sits nestled within the quiet bocage of Normandy, a landscape defined by thick hedges and the soft, grey light that clings to the rolling fields. Nearby, the Fontaine Saint-Pierre flows through the countryside, while the elevations of Mont Gobert and the expanse of the Forêt Indivise d'Eu shape the horizon. Visitors might wander through the local woodland of l'Échauffard or explore the grand architecture of the Château de Rambures and the Domaine du Château de Foucaucourt. It is a place of apple orchards and quiet pastures, where the weight of the past rests gently beneath the flint-strewn earth.
